Firm pressure. Slow work. Deep relaxation.
Myofascial release massage in Tomar, Portugal, combining focused attention to tension with the pleasure of a deeply relaxing massage.
The work can be strong and substantial. It is also slow, attentive, and adapted throughout the session—with time to focus on areas that need attention and space for you to unwind.
The aim is simple: to help you feel better in your body, during your massage and afterward.
What is myofascial release massage?
Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds and supports muscles and other structures throughout your body.
Myofascial release massage uses slow movement and sustained pressure to work with these tissues and the surrounding muscles.
In my practice, a session may include broad, gliding massage, focused pressure, stretching, and movement. I may work with my hands, forearms, or elbows, depending on the area and the pressure that suits you.
You don’t need to understand the anatomy to enjoy the experience. We begin with how you feel and what you would like from your massage.
Slow. Deep. Attentive.
Time to work with an area
I work slowly, allowing time to explore an area of tension, adjust the pressure, and notice how you respond. Some areas need focused attention; others suit broader, flowing movement.
Substantial pressure, introduced gradually
The massage is firm and can feel intense in places. I build pressure gradually and adjust it with your feedback.
Deep doesn’t have to be painful. You don’t need to endure discomfort to get something worthwhile from the session.
Hands that listen
I pay attention to your breathing, movement, and how you respond to touch. Your feedback helps me decide when to stay with an area, change the pressure, or move on.
The session develops around you.
What does a session feel like?
Firm pressure and deep relaxation can happen in the same session.
You may notice sustained contact from a hand, a stretch, or pressure gradually moving through an area of tightness. At other times, you may simply settle into the massage and switch off.
Clients have described feeling surprisingly relaxed despite the strong pressure, and experiencing a sense of ease or renewal afterward. Your own experience may vary from one appointment to the next.
You’re welcome to talk, be quiet, or ask questions. There is nothing you need to perform or achieve.
What happens at your appointment?
We begin with a conversation about how you’re feeling, any relevant health information, and what you would like us to focus on.
You’ll have privacy to prepare and undress to your comfort level. Professional draping keeps you covered, with only the area being worked on exposed.
During the massage, I adapt the pressure, pace, and focus with your feedback. You can ask for a change, pause, or stop at any time. I may occasionally invite you to notice your breath; there is no breathing technique you need to get right.
Afterward, you’ll have time to rest briefly and get dressed before returning to your day.
Who is it for?
You might spend long hours at a desk, work on your feet, enjoy being active, or notice tension building up through everyday life.
You may arrive with a particular area you’d like me to focus on. You may want time to relax and be looked after.
You’re equally welcome if you simply enjoy firm massage and value how it makes you feel.
